Calyx Distinctive Arts, founded in 2001 by a group of professional artists, host art exhibitions and sales twice annually in both Calgary and Edmonton, Alberta. The name 'Calyx' (ka'-liks) means 'the outer protective covering of a flower' and symbolizes an organization that protects and nurtures budding artists, supporting them to bloom to their full potential.

The Calyx directors, and up to thirty guest artists each day, display and sell high quality art from a diverse spectrum of disciplines.

Calyx organizers believe that artists are the best qualified people to exhibit and sell artwork as they have an intimate understanding of artists, their media, and their specific artwork. Calyx exhibition and sale events offer numerous advantages for both the art-buying public and the artist:
